Google fired 48 over misconduct but left hundreds still in the company

Confirmation from Google CEO Sundar Pichai that 48 people, including several senior managers, were terminated in the last two years over sexual harassment allegations has prompted a strong employee rebuke. Staff vented on social media, in meetings, and internal messageboards on Friday as they digested a New York Times report claiming Google protected executives accused of sexual misconduct. Employees were outraged executives accused of harassment received millions of dollars in severance payments while Google actively contested lawsuits from former employees and the Department of Labor claiming women workers were underpaid.
